Honoring Lives Changed on 9/11/01 by Changing Lives Today
Every year on September 11th, EFNT hosts Freedom Day, a community
service day for 300+ EFNT stakeholders who join together in honor of those
whose lives were forever changed by the tragic events that
occurred in 2001. Teams of enthusiastic volunteers from EFNT
member companies come out to "answer the call" to promote the American
spirit of hopefulness.
This year on Thursday, September 11th, we are priviledged to
partner with the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department (DFR). Due to decreasing
resources, firefighters live with increasingly deteriorating conditions within
their fire stations. On Freedom Day, EFNT volunteers will pour into five
fire stations throughout Dallas to provide fresh coats of paint; sand and
refinish bannisters, lockers and fences; lay new floor tiles; and much
more. This September, citizens of Dallas will give DFR the biggest
proverbial "thank you" note they've ever received!
Every Year, EFNT has engaged hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers
who rolled up their sleeves to provide thousands of hours of service to
charities. Dozens of EFNT member companies have fanned out across
Greater Dallas to meet the urgent needs of nonprofits including Camp Summit,
Interfaith Housing Coalition, Central Dallas Ministries, the Science Place at
Fair Park, the Wilkinson Center, Junior Achievement, Catholic Charities and
others.
So reserve Thursday, September 11th on your calendar and get ready
to make a meaningful impact on your community by giving back to the men and
women who put their lives on the line every day to ensure your and your family's
safety.
Thank you for all that you are doing to promote
good corporate citizenship. |
