As you all know, EFNT is a Program of the Communities Foundation of Texas. Here is what Community Foundations do....such a blessing for any community!
Communities Foundation of Texas: What Is a Community Foundation?
Every December, Prison Entrepreneurship Program provides presents to the children whose fathers are PEP participants who are in prison over the holidays. These presents are purchased by PEP donors as well as by members of the Highland Park United Methodist Church (the church on the Southwest corner of the SMU campus).
PEP anticipates receiving around 250 presents this year.
One of the biggest challenges they face is getting these presents wrapped nicely so that we can deliver them (many of them get hand-delivered by staff).
See below for the dates of the Wrapping Party that we are hosting at the church. IF your company or group of friends are interested in helping - Here are our shifts:

Encore Enterprises has adopted a toy drive to benefit Chetna, a non profit organization focused on domestic violence against South Asian women and a book drive to benefit Vickery Meadow Youth Development Center. The latter will serve children in the Vickery Meadow area, a neighborhood that was recently affected by the Ebola crisis. Thank you Encore Enterprises!

A site visit to Jonathan's Place today was so moving. What a beautiful facility for children that need an emergency shelter. I met a child that was just removed from her home last night with a few of her siblings. Breaks your heart...We have a holiday volunteer opportunity in our packet to support Jonathan's Place. Enjoyed a site visit at Vogel Alcove Childcare Center for the Homeless and also had an opportunity to deliver coats collected by our generous Member companies.
This month our team has been working with Entrepreneurs For North Texas (EFNT) to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Our greatest triumph was our PINKtober Bake Sale in our Frisco HQ. People in our office building were invited to stop by and grab boxes of pink goodies. We raised about $500 in one afternoon that went straight to our customer Susan G. Komen.
We are hosting a Veterans Day Plug 'N Play on Tuesday, November 11 at some of the VA transitional homes and the Resource Center. We need to volunteers to help paint! EFNT Members will receive an registration link soon - but if you or your colleagues/friends are interested, drop us a note! Thanks,

EFNT Member Companies and Non Profit representatives attended our Roundtable on 2014 Holiday Volunteering Opportunities.
Special Thank you dinner for our Very Special Spirit of Entrepreneurship and Freedom Day committee members. We hosted it at El Centro College's Culinary Institute and enjoyed a Hungarian meal cooked and presented by the students there.
EFNT Member Companies are participating in a coat drive for young children under the age of 7. Vogel Alcove Childcare Center for the Homeless and Mi Escuelita are the benefitting organizations. It will be wonderful to keep the kids warm this winter...although this week is kinda chilly already!!
