ENTREPRENEURS FOUNDATIONS’ FREEDOM DAY HONORS LIVES LOST AND CHANGED ON SEPTEMBER 11TH BY RENOVATING SIX AREA FIRE STATIONS

More than 400 Volunteers Participate in Annual Day of Community Services

WHO:              On Thursday, September 11, the Entrepreneurs Foundation of North Texas (EFNT) will host its seventh annual Freedom Day bringing together more than 400 EFNT volunteers for a day of community service in honor of those whose lives were lost or forever changed by the tragic events of September 11, 2001. This year, EFNT, a fund of Communities Foundation of Texas, is privileged to partner with the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department (DFR) to restore and renew six local fire stations with fresh coats of paint, lockers, fences, landscaping and much more. Because of budget constraints, firefighters live and work with increasingly deteriorating conditions within their stations.

WHAT:            After gathering in the morning for a moment of reflection and remarks from special guest Steve Maddox of DFR, who will share his experiences alongside NYC firefighters following the September 11 attacks, Freedom Day volunteers from more than 40 Dallas-area companies will spend the day restoring and renovating six fire stations. The day concludes with a service celebration.
