The North Star Recognition is given annually to outstanding leaders in the community who have demonstrated the true Spirit of Entrepreneurship.  Their leadership shines the light on the importance of giving back to the community, while running successful businesses or organizations.  These individuals and businesses make North Texas a better place to work and an extraordinary place to live.  Previous recipients include Ebby Halliday, Bob Buford, Roger Staubach, Charles Wyly, and Sam Wyly, along with local businesses:  Business Access, Skywire Software, Sabre Holdings, Austin Ventures, MHT Partners, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and Sevin Rosen Funds.

About the Entrepreneurs Foundation of North Texas

The Entrepreneurs Foundation of North Texas (EFNT), a fund of Communities Foundation of Texas, assists emerging companies in building philanthropy into business plans. EFNT works with companies to leverage the value they are creating to benefit their employees and the community in which they work.  The process includes a contribution of stock options that, upon a liquidity event, are used to establish a company-advised fund for the company to distribute to charitable organizations. EFNT supports this form of charitable giving by acting as community affairs liaisons.  For more information, visit www.efnt.org or call 214/750-4254.
