Freedom Day FAQ

1. How do I register to participate and can this be done in advance?

You may register on line by logging on to www.efnt.org/freedomday or see your Team Captain for registration information. See you there!

2. Have you selected the service projects for the day yet?

This year we are excited to be in partnership with Catholic Charities at the Brady Center, a facility which provides family services in East Dallas.  Key initiatives of this Center include senior nutritional and recreational services, health screenings, emergency assistance, English as a Second Language classes, transportation for the elderly and monthly supplemental food services.

Catholic Charities of Dallas is a family of human services, working together to strengthen families. Clients receive assistance regardless of religious belief, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation or nationality throughout the sites which serve the Dallas community.

The Brady Center is located at 4009 Elm St. (just off Haskell), Dallas, Texas 75226.

3. Do I need to do anything in advance to prepare for the service projects?

No, but depending on your service assignment, your Team Captain or Service Project Coordinator may need to make an advance site visit to keep you informed of the details of your service project.

4. What is the schedule for the day?

We will meet at 7:30 in the morning at the Brady Center, located at 4009 Elm Street in Dallas, Texas.  The schedule is:

7:30 am     Registration
7:45 am     Opening Ceremony
8:00 am     Community Service Project
Lunch times will vary depending on service project
2:00 pm     Return to location of Service Celebration
2:15 pm     Service Celebration/ Awards Ceremony

5. Where do we park and is it free?

Parking is free and plentiful. Signage near the service site will indicate spaces.

6. Will I be required to bring tools, paint ladders, etc. or will these things be provided?

Catholic Charities will provide the supplies, but your Team Captain will let you know if you need to bring more.

7. Can I bring my kids and/or other family members?  Is there a minimum age requirement?

Freedom Day is designed for EFNT member companies and their employees. Family members are welcome, but they will need to be at least 16 years old.

8. What happens if I finish my service early?

Other service projects will still be going on so feel free to see if others need your help. You can also locate a Steering Committee member (they’ll be the ones in a different colored t-shirt from yours) and they can help you locate another service activity. Either way, stick around for the closing ceremony. You won’t want to miss it! -- They’ll be lots of awards and great service stories to share!

9. What happens if I finish my service late or I can’t get it done?

We’ll give it our best shot to finish it all, but if not, our service partners are very appreciative of any work that is done.

You can also let our service partner know that you and perhaps even a team from your company would like to schedule a time to return to the facility to complete unfinished projects.

10. Does this event have anything to do with the Freedom Day run?

In spirit, yes – in activity, no. Our event is for EFNT network members only.

11. Will meals be provided and if yes, what type of meals?

Snacks and drinks will be provided.

12. What happens if it rains?

Most service projects will be indoors this year. We should be able to stay nice and dry!

13. What if I have additional questions?

See your Team Captain or email us at freedomday@efnt.org. It’s that simple!

 14. How can I get more involved with EFNT after Freedom Day?

Thanks for asking! You can refer more companies to join our network of good corporate citizens and you can encourage companies and individuals to make cash contributions to support our program.
