Entrepreneurs For North Texas (EFNT) helps companies serve as good corporate citizens by facilitating their community involvement and philanthropy in a way that's good for their business.  As a fund of Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT), EFNT makes it easy for business leaders, their companies and their employees make a beneficial social impact by providing them with effective ways to contribute and become an integral part of their community.

In establishing a relationship with EFNT, a company networks with like-minded philanthropists while contributing to the greater good of the community.  Today there are more than 80 companies in North Texas participating in EFNT, and more than 50 underwriters significantly supporting the effort.

EFNT's History

In the summer of 2000, several Dallas entrepreneurs joined together with Communities Foundation of Texas to bring this worthwhile philanthropy vehicle to the North Texas region, and the Entrepreneurs For North Texas was born!  Originally conceived by Silicon Valley venture capitalist Gib Myers, private sector leaders in Austin, TX; Boulder, CO; Dallas, TX; Portland, OR; Lexington, KY; Concord, NH; Honolulu, HI and Tel Aviv have set out to make a fundamental change in the culture among companies, inviting them to make community involvement an integral part of their business plan.

EFNT shares with its affiliates the impetus to bridge the gap between community needs and available resources by harnessing the potential of emerging companies for investment in their communities. It moves entrepreneurial attitudes, skills, and techniques into the nonprofit environment, while engaging the people within the companies to learn more about vital community needs and take an active role in addressing them.
