Prior to forming Helios, Luke Sweetser served as a Managing Director at LH Equity for ten years where he jointly developed and executed the partnership’s investment strategy. Besides originating and structuring private equity investments, Mr. Sweetser focuses on the oversight and leadership of the Partnership’s portfolio companies. In this role, he concentrates on the areas of business growth, operations analysis and improvement, acquisition integration, and major transformation and strategic planning programs. Mr. Sweetser has a solid track record of executing complex operational and financial turnarounds and has served as the chief executive officer or chief restructuring officer for several of the predecessor funds’ portfolio companies.
Originally from Harlingen, Texas, Luke holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard University where he was a Harvard College Scholar. He holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst from the Association of Investment Management and Research.. Mr. Sweetser is a director of BillMatrix Corporation, InStaff Personnel, and PrimeSource Equipment. Luke also serves on the board of several civic and community organizations. He has served as a director for the City of Dallas Housing Finance Corporation since 1994 and has served as its Chief Investment Officer since 1996. Mr. Sweetser is a director of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Private Equity Forum and a member of the National Venture Capital Association. |
