Communities Foundation of Texas: What Is a Community Foundation?

Every December, Prison Entrepreneurship Program provides presents to the children whose fathers are PEP participants who are in prison over the holidays. These presents are purchased by PEP donors as well as by members of the Highland Park United Methodist Church (the church on the Southwest corner of the SMU campus). PEP anticipates receiving around 250 presents this year. One of the biggest challenges they face is getting these presents wrapped nicely so that we can deliver them (many of them get hand-delivered by staff). See below for the dates of the Wrapping Party that we are hosting at the church. IF your company or group of friends are interested in helping - Here are our shifts: Wed, Dec 16: 9:00am - 12:00pm Wed, Dec 16: 2:00pm - 5:00pm Wed, Dec 16: 5:00pm - 8:00pm Th, Dec 17: 9:00 - 1:00pm Please contact Kristie at kwisniewski@pep.org to confirm.

Encore Enterprises has adopted a toy drive to benefit Chetna, a non profit organization focused on domestic violence against South Asian women and a book drive to benefit Vickery Meadow Youth Development Center. The latter will serve children in the Vickery Meadow area, a neighborhood that was recently affected by the Ebola crisis. Thank you Encore Enterprises!

Freedom Day 2014 - United We Serve!

This past year, we thought, “What better way to spend the day than by completing service projects for the men, women and families that serve our country?” Our EFNT Member Companies agreed, and we put together an army of over 635 volunteers, making it the most sizable Freedom Day yet!
